Create Channels

Create custom chat channels in WeKraft Teamspace to organize project discussions and coordinate feature implementations.


Where to Go & How to Go

Creating a New Channel

  • Where to Go: Click on Teamspace in the sidebar.
  • How to Go:
    1. If you have the required channel creation permissions, click the Create Channel button in the Channels sidebar.
    2. In the dialog, configure your new channel:
      • Channel Type: Choose Community (for general group chat) or Announcement (for broadcast-only channels).
      • Private Channel: If creating a Community channel, you can toggle Private Channel ON to restrict access. (Announcement channels cannot be made private).
      • Add Members: If Private Channel is enabled, select the checkboxes next to the project members you want to add to this channel.
      • Channel Name: Enter a short name. Names must contain only lowercase letters, numbers, spaces, or hyphens, and can be up to 32 characters long. (Any spaces will automatically be replaced with hyphens).
      • Description: Enter an optional description (up to 120 characters) explaining what the channel is for.
    3. Click Create Channel.
    4. The channel will be created instantly and will appear in the channel list for all authorized team members in real-time.
